Students progress at a pace that matches their readiness and interests. Each plan evolves as they grow to keep them challenged and engaged.
Real-world projects and nature-based learning encourage students to ask questions, test ideas, and build practical skills alongside academic ones.
Social-emotional learning, movement, and outdoor time are woven into the day to support regulation and well-being and cultivate curiosity, resilience, and responsibility.
With low student-to-teacher ratios and tight-knit cohorts, students build trust, stay focused with fewer distractions, and receive targeted instruction that accelerates growth.

Rising Sky Academy offers a well-rounded program that blends rigorous academics with the arts, movement, and character growth. Students build strong foundations in mathematics, science, and history alongside reading, writing, and language arts. We also prioritize social-emotional skills and connect learning to the natural world through nature studies. Daily experiences in art and music, foreign language, and physical education round out the day so every child engages mind, heart, and body. Inspired by homeschooling, our curriculum promotes individualized learning and helps students build mastery by making, doing, and sharing their learning in real-world contexts, with plenty of time outdoors and in small, focused groups.
Language Arts
Imagine a place where where nature, projects, and purpose meet in a sensory-integrated environment.
Each day blends individual skill-building, collaborative projects, and outdoor exploration. Classrooms are calm and flexible, with multisensory tools and movement built in so students can regulate, focus, and create. Learning extends beyond four walls, with nature serving as a living lab, and community partnerships bringing real-world relevance through guest experts and field experiences. Students share their work through projects and portfolios, building confidence, purpose, and pride in their growth.
Every student begins with an individualized learning plan aligned to their strengths, needs, and interests, with attention to growth across the eight forms of intelligence—linguistic, logical-mathematical, spatial, bodily-kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalistic. We track progress through skills-based assessments and portfolios rather than standardized tests. Teachers partner closely with families through regular updates and communication, sharing strategies for home and school, and we use observation and data to adjust instruction so challenge and support stay in balance.
Our individualized learning plans capture who your child is, what they need to thrive, and the concrete steps we’ll take to help them grow. It begins with a whole-child snapshot and then translates needs into clear goals, daily supports, and measurable progress markers.
a proactive and multi-faceted approach
Each child's plan provides a detailed learner profile, including executive functioning, sensory, academic and social/emotional needs—plus a summary of preferred learning styles and a scale of the eight intelligences to show which pathways best spark engagement. Specific goals and measurable outcomes are supported by a variety of strategies, accommodations and tools for use in the classroom.
Progress is determined though work samples, portfolios, parent feedback and scheduled review dates. We work closely with parents to celebrate growth, update targets, and adjust strategies—so the plan stays current as your child evolves.
We begin with a parent interview to learn your child’s history and strengths and teacher/tutor surveys to determine what needs or abilities show up in a classroom setting. We also conduct student observations across routines and activities to see how they engage, regulate, and respond to different tasks and environments. These observations and interviews allow us to determine specific needs and abilities and honor preferred learning pathways.
